My outfit is not quite as exciting today - I knew I had lots of running around to do so I opted for some (new!) flat boots instead of my regular heels. Yes, I think I have an addiction to boots! These latest ones are also destiny, as I originally bought a different pair but the zip broke on them after the first wear. So, I went to return them and decided I would have one more try of these lovelys, and decided that yes, I would branch out a bit from the safe and ordinary, especially given my recent oath. And so, it is love in a pair of boots once more!
Please excuse the TERRIBLE light, I am only home when it is dark...
T-shirt - Pagani
Cardi - Tempt (I wear it all the time)
Scarf - a present from a friend from Egypt
Skirt - Max Clearance
Tights - Glassons (they are actually a cute argyle pattern but it's impossible to see with the light)
Boots - Number One Shoe Warehouse
Necklace - my cameo

Wardrobe Wednesday and Vintage Clothing Makeover: The Mu-Mu Edition
I am double-dipping this week for Wardrobe Wednesday as I wanted to share one of my fabulous vintage dress make-overs. Sharon (my dear friend and neighbour) saw potential in this beauty, and while I was initially doubtful, I am THRILLED at how it turned out. As delightfully comfortable as this dress was pre-remodel, it wasn't doing a lot for my figure... A hem and a belt was all that was needed to update it into a pretty funky dress! I didn't dare hem it myself as that slippery slidey material and the pressure of getting it straight may have just about pushed me over the edge. So, I trusted a dressmaker to do the dirty work. That way, I can get straight down to the business of wearing this fabulous dress! I like to call this look 'mu-mu chic'. What do you think?

Wardrobe Wednesday
I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself as I write this. Here's the story: a pair of boots I have been searching for for ages, turned up in my size on Trade Me, never been worn, for a reasonable price. It was destiny! I bought them instantly, of course. I just followed up the Track and Trace as I thought it had been while and it turns out they had been left at my gate late last week, but since I haven't seen them, I'm assuming someone has come and helped themselves to my parcel :( So, that is pretty darn sucky really.
Luckily, my day was brightened (before I figured all of the above out) by some mail from the lovely Clare. Snail mail RULES! Thanks, Clare :)
Anywho, here is my outfit for this week. Not as exciting as last week, but still kind of snazzy, I think.
Cardi: Tempt (loving the new colour and batwings)
T-shirt: Pagani (I have this t-shirt in about 5 different colours)
Skirt: Max Clearance (I had it taken up about an inch and it was perfect!)
Tights: Farmers
Boots: Number One Shoe Warehouse
Necklace: same as this one
See more lovely ladies here.
Edited: So, I found my boots!! After much despair and cursing yesterday, I found them this afternoon tucked right, right, right behind a large pot plant at my gate. I know, I know, I'm a fool. BUT, I don't expect to have to play hide and seek with the courier! Anyway, happy ending, yay :)

Fashion Challenge Update and Wardrobe Wednesday
Well, I may not have been posting much, but I have definitely been keeping up with the personal fashion challenge I set for myself a few weeks ago. It is going really well and I am loving my new-found sense of confidence and style! I look forward to getting dressed for work in the morning, and the compliments I receive really help to keep me motivated. Taking care in my appearance has really helped with my self-esteem and confidence and while receiving compliments is always nice, I am totally doing this for myself.
This also ties in nicely with the return of Wardrobe Wednesday! Find out more here. While none of these were today's outfit (I start work pretty early in the morning and missed the boat today!), they are some things I have been wearing lately that make me feel good :)

Wardrobe Wednesday
Since my 7th form ball wasn't actually THAT long ago, the photos are not really worth a mention. However, I did dress up this past week to celebrate me finishing Uni forever!! Yes that's right, I am no longer a student!! After six years, and two degrees, this is a HUGE achievement, made even more glorious by the fact that I have a job to go to. Double win!
This photo features my gorgeous man too, looking rather solemn may I add. We had several out-takes with the good ol' timer. Many funny faces ensued but this was the most normal of the bunch.
My dress was a bargain, $15 from a little shop in Dunedin called Nooz. Shoes were another bargain, end of season at Wild Pair a few years ago. (I'm very short so high heels are a fav of mine when I'm trying to pretend I'm a grown up!). My necklace is from an amazing costume jewellery shop in Christchurch called Mask. I bought it when I was a teenage and still love it. Paddy's shirt is from yd, jeans from Meccano and his shoes are No 1 Shoe Warehouse. Wearing a dress without stockings is a huge deal for me as I'm extremely self conscious of my pale skin. I'm very proud of myself for making this public!
Check out more gorgeous gals here.
Two things to mention:
1) Be sure to check out the gorgeous giveaway at willow + moxie. Devon Smith is divine!
2) This blog has a link to an amazing, FREE sourdough ebook. You must, must, must check it out!
